The Pen Beds

Where it is: There are two ornamental pen beds located as you enter the park via the North side entrance.

What Plant/Tree life to look out for: Planted with a constantly rotating flowering plants and shrubs this is an area of vibrant colours and wonderful smells.

Look out for plant varieties like Dahlia, Aster and Anemone flowering in the summer and Cyclamen, Mahonia and Pansy in the Winter.

What Insect/Bird/Animal life to look out for: The Pen Beds are most popular with the insects and pollinators. Planted with many nectar-rich, sunny, and open-petalled flowers; bees and butterflies are in abundance. See butterflies like Small Tortoiseshell, Red Admiral, Peacock, and Painted Lady spring through autumn.
