Pétanque

About

Where it is/General info: Located to the right as you enter the park’s main North Entrance is our pétanque terrain, the area where this classic game is played. Pétanque is sometimes referred to as Boules (although “boules” is actually the name of the large balls players throw) towards a small target ball known as the “jack” or “cochonnet”. This is a relaxing and enjoyable activity, perfect for visitors looking for a leisurely day in the park.

What Plant/Tree Life to Look Out For: The shade here on sunny days is provided by our Liquidambar trees. They offer welcome shelter during warm weather and become particularly spectacular in autumn when their leaves turn a beautiful fiery red.

What Insect/Bird/Animal Life to Look Out For: Surprisingly, this area is quite popular with some of our bird life. If you are lucky, you may spot sparrows enjoying a dust bath on the terrain. Feel free to send us pictures and let’s see who else likes the game.
